Objectives of the programme in Democratic Republic of Congo

In 2007, the objectives of the programme in Democratic Republic of Congo were:

1. To increase the capacity of local partner organisations, enabling them to provide accelerated lower education and teach children and youth reading/writing, math and vocational training at the desired quality level;
2. To increase the capacity of schools to provide formal education for children at the desired quality level;
3. To increase the capacity of local partner organisations and schools to offer children and youth psychosocial support;
4. To increase the institutional capacity of local partner organisations.
5. To raise awareness about the rights of children and the psychosocial needs of marginalised children and youth among the urban and rural communities targeted by organisations;
6. To improved the protection of the rights of children in conflict with the law.
